Bio
" The truth is Out There ", a quote from my favorite TV show the X-Files. So here is my full Bio. My mother loves all types of music. From the Motown sound to Gordon Lightfoot.Music is music to her, so you can blame her for me playing all types of genres. I started playing when I was about 9 years old. My mother's friend taught how to play the bongos. From there my mother and step-father brought me a cheap set of drums. The next step happen after a school friend of mine show me his guitar, a Gibson. His brother taught him how to play Steely Dan songs. So he show me a few chords. Problem was I didn't have any money to buy one which brings me to the next phase of my musical journey.

After saving money from a summer job I brought a Hondo copy of a Gibson. One that looks like the one that Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin has. I took a few lessons when I could afford it when I was 15 years old. By chance a guy I knew from the neighborhood growing up , played the drums. He wanted to start a band. After another few chance meetings with people I knew we formed a band. WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE ! Disaster written all over it. Even though I co-founded the group, I and my friend was push out of the group by the drummer's friend. A pot smoking alcoholic of a guitarist who can only play when he's high ( What happen to him I tell you when I get a contract ).

Truth be told what I learn from that was, I wasn't as good as I thought. I need to learn not only about myself and as a musician. So I remember what I did when I was younger, listen to all types of music. I learn how to read and write music when I got to High School. My music teacher took me to see my first opera, " Manon Lescaut ". But I learn I could adapt to everything I hear which my mother said I got from her father. He always goes to any church for a chance to sing. So you could say I got my gift from him. Adapting means change and I knew computers would change not only my musical abilities but my outlook on music itself. People I knew gave up on music entirely.

From a Casio CZ-101, Opcode EZVision Music Software and a Apple Macintosh Plus I recorded my earlier songs ( which I still have ) , not very good but a starting point. Then a Kawai X40D I recorded some 40 songs ( which I still have ) , also better but for one song. That song came by accident. I saw a magazine with New Order on the cover and I heard a song of theirs on the radio. I know I could never come up with a song like theirs with what I had. " Order " only exists on tape, I didn't write it down or save it. About the same time I heard Kraftwerk's " Numbers " , The Human League's " Don't You Want Me ", The Art Of Noise's " Beatbox " and the second British Invasion began. Music change for me then.

Boss DS330, Roland XP-10 and Alesis S4 QuadraSynth was the equipment I was using toward the end of the 1990's. By then Orbital, Daft Punk, Sneaker Pimps, Paul Oakenfold, DJ Shadow, Prodigy ( the British group not the Rap group ), Paul Van Dyck, Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren play a large part in what I try to do in my music. But other influences include, Yoko Kanno, Eric Serra, Hans Zimmer, Craig Armstrong, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Towa Tei, Sweetback ( Sade's band ) and Bernard Hermann. Today I use the following equipment:

Edirol PCR-M80 Keyboard Controller
Apple 17" Widescreen iMac 1.83Ghz. intel Core Duo Computer
Apple Logic Express 7.3
Propellerhead Reason 3.0.5

Apple JamPack Remix Tools
Apple JamPack Symphony
Propellerhead Strings Refill
Propellerhead Reason Pianos

Other equipment:
Acoustic 12-string guitar
Oberheim DMX Drum Machine

The music I create and put on Fuzz is music like you takes time and hard work. I know my limitations and accept them. I know what I can't do. I know there are artists who are better in other genres then me. I accept that. I can sing but, its better as background vocals instead. I do not bad mouth other artists because its not me. The problem I have with is " so called artists ". You know who they are. This is not high school. We all fall by our music, I do. I don't jump on the bandwagon because this group is hot. You may like them, I may not. Accept that ! The artists I like you may not like. No big deal. I believe is someone has talent, tell them and let others know. After that it's up to them after that to promote themselves. If you look at my other profile you may notice my favorites seem to be mainly women. Why? Because I believe there needs to be more women in Electronica writing and playing their own material. Why ? New sounds, new voices and a new look in music. I would like to say I have plenty of complements from people, all very good. Am I worry I don't have too many plays ? No. Why ? I save the answer for another time.

Hey,
yeah, I'm still learning!!! I started to "play" with GarageBand somehow in December, much time, but because of my "normal" work, I had no time to find out what with what and how to compose etc... Besides, one song takes me sooo much time yet... sometimes it annoys me really!! I have ideas for songs, but I can't arrange them!!! Ok, easy easy, I'm just working on next song...whole day of thinking and I still have nothing... :S But... Training makes master!! Cheers!! Karo :)
